• 3 x lemons
  • 10 cm piece of ginger
  • 3 x cloves of garlic
  • 2 tsp of ground tumeric
  • 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 2 ltrs of water


  1. Cut lemons in half and squeeze the juice in to a saucepan and pop the peels in as well
  2. Peel and thinly slice the ginger and garlic and add it in with the lemons
  3. Add the water and spices and bring to the boil. Once boiling turn it down to a low simmer for 20 mins
  4. Let the mixture cool before straining the liquid into a sterilized bottle to be stored in the fridge for up to a week
  5. Mix 1/3 of a cup of your elixir with hot water and you can add some honey for sweetness

Lemons have as much Vitamin C gram for gram as in oranges. They are also high in antioxidants all of which is great for not only for boosting immunity but for protection of skin cells.
